The new LA-110 integrated access device supports four SHDSL pairs, bonded using inverse multiplexing. By combining DSL technology with inverse multiplexing, RAD has created a device specifically geared toward the bandwidth needs of medium-sized businesses.
“Medium-sized enterprises often fall into a bandwidth lurch,” explained Itai Mendelsohn, RAD’s IAD Product Line Manager, in a statement. He elaborated by explaining that bandwidth needs for such companies often exceed the capabilities of consumer-grade ADSL, but fall short of the bandwidth offered by broadband services geared toward large enterprises.
RAD designed the LA-110 specifically for this under-served market segment. Because of DSL’s ubiquity, the new product is ideal for connecting isolated branch offices. The product’s flexible combination of user and network ports also makes it ideal for delivering leased lines.
LA-110 includes VLAN stacking, and can deliver voice, data and Ethernet services over both ATM and packet switched networks.
